About Course

This project focuses on the analysis and design of a wind turbine blade aimed at improving power generation efficiency. The study evaluates blade geometries, material properties, and aerodynamic profiles to optimize energy conversion from wind to mechanical power. Using computational tools, the project simulates various blade designs under different wind conditions to maximize output and minimize losses. The results suggest a more efficient blade design that can enhance overall turbine performance in a wide range of wind environments.

What Will You Learn?

  • Blade Design Principles: Understand the key factors involved in designing wind turbine blades, including aerodynamics, blade length, and tip-speed ratio.
  • Material Selection: Gain knowledge on selecting lightweight and durable materials like composites to optimize performance and structural integrity.
  • Simulation Tools: Learn how to use CFD and FEM software to simulate wind conditions and analyze blade performance under varying loads.
  • Optimization Techniques: Develop skills in optimizing designs for maximum energy efficiency while minimizing drag, turbulence, and structural stresses.
